Kit - Subaru 4-gauge

This kit is designed to run the gauges above. These are the Japanese (JDM) and European (EDM) delivered spec that shipped on the GC8 Type RA. This kit will drive a 3-gauge cluster of white faced Lamco gauges for battery voltage, oil temperature and oil pressure mounted on the dash in a pod above the air conditioner center vents. A turbo boost gauge is mounted separately on the steering wheel assembly.

Sensor and harness kit

The kit below contains everything you need to get bare gauges running. No OEM wiring is used. Kit includes sensors, engine block adapters, custom electronics, heat shielded sensor wiring with plugs installed, and a main harness with labelled gauge plugs.

Kit contents

1 x AEM 150PSI pressure sensor (AEM 30-2131-150)
1 x AEM temperature sensor (AEM 30-2012)
2 x ProSport 1/8NPT oil gallery adapters (for sensor mounting into engine)
2 x 3m sensor wire looms with sensor plugs installed, insulated with fibreglass shielding (650C rated)
1 x 700mm custom harness with labelled gauge plugs
1 x 2 pin flying plug for illuminating boost gauge (can be deleted if not required)
1 x 5V regulator circuit embedded in harness to drive pressure sensor and retain low-oil pressure warning light functionality

Retaining low-oil pressure warning light on driver instrument dash

Special note that this harness includes a custom electronic circuit designed to retain the functionality of the in-cabin low oil pressure warning light. This red warning light becomes inoperable when the factory oil pressure sensor (switch) is removed from the engine and replaced with the new AEM sensor. The electronics retains this light functionality and a spade connector is provided that plugs in where the OEM oil pressure sensor connects to the engine bay plug. This mimics the output of the factory OEM sensor, firing a signal when the oil pressure drops below a certain threshold (around 0.5bar), causing the light to illuminate as it does with the factory setup.

Installation

A simplified visual guide below shows the recommended setup. The harness is plug-and-play and is separated into two halves: sensor side, and gauge side, which are joined by a Deutsch DTM connector. Notably, 3 bare wires require connection to power everything up. These are labelled and are: 12V+ switched, 12V+ headlight, ground and these lines can patched in from the radio harness.

Quality Assurance

I hand assemble and test each kit thoroughly before shipping. This includes bench testing the entire kit end-end from sensor to gauge pins. I record these test videos and provide a personal video overview to each and every customer, along with build photos.

Price

The complete sensor and harness kit (excluding gauges) is typically $450 USD + postage. The final price depends on the country and currency and I try to absorb shipping costs into the price if I can.

Payment and Shipping

I have a business Paypal account, facilitating easy payment with buyer protection, which is the most preferred method. I also have a WISE account (formerly TransferWise) with bank accounts in most currencies. Build time is usually 3 days and shipping via tracked international courier is typically 3-10 business days.

What is the process to get a kit? (I'll quote first to ensure you get the right kit)

To ensure you get the right kit for your car, I don't sell directly via the website. Instead I use a quote-order process where you contact me (via the contact button below) and provide details of your setup. Once I have your details I can email you a quote with a final price including shipping to your door. The quote contains options for payment via Paypal (with buyer protection) if you decide to proceed.
